Just finished reading The Family Nobody Wanted. It’s a short book, but one that I love. It’s a true story about a young minister and his wife who are unable to have any children, and end up adopting 12....all the children were considered to be unwanted/unadoptable because they were of mixed ancestry and races (which was considered a no-no at that time).

Some flowers that grow in my parents flower beds. They grow to be 3-4 feet tall and kind of take over everything, but they are kind of pretty when they all bloom.

My parents have this little tree that is determined to grow right up against the side of their house (I think it is an oak). It has been cut down numerous times, and we thought we finally got rid of it last year, but it continues to come back. Maybe it is a haunted tree, or a zombie tree, since it likes to resurrect itself, lol.

I had to work yesterday (on Father’s Day), so I cooked a belated Father’s Day dinner today....steak, grilled red potatoes, sauteed green beans, and cheese corn bread. I am so appreciative of all the things my dad does for me, and all the things he has taught me!
