The Spanish Steps.....135 steps from the bottom to the very top. Some say there are 137 steps, but I learned that the bottom two steps are actually part of a drainage system (so they technically don't count as a step). So, 135 stairs up to the top....
Almost half way there....... don't be deceived, there are lots of steps that go around the corner before you make it to the top. |

Next up was Trevi Fountain. Unfortunately the fountain is currently under
construction/restoration so there is no actual water in it. :-(
But it was still nice to be able to see it.
The Pantheon was AMAZING!!! Not only is it such a big piece of history, but the architect work of it is something that has not ever been able to be duplicated. The roof of the building is all made with with different types of cement and other materials, but there is no steel built into it holding it up.

The final part of yesterday the first day was a trip to a gelato shop. 150 flavors.....how does one even begin to choose?
(I've posted the best pictures I could trying to capture the cases full of gelato.)
