Tried a new cracker/snack today. It is Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread Squares.....they were pretty good, and leave you with a nice tang after eating them.

I was having a really lazy day today.....slept in a little this morning, did a little grocery shopping this afternoon, did some more pleasure reading on my Kindle, and then it was movie night tonight!!! Soul Surfer and Limitless.....both were pretty good flicks!!!

Went to a Hamilton Creek with some friends today. We spent the afternoon walking down the creek (pretty much down the middle), looking for pieces of petrified wood or just some pretty rocks. I ended up finding a sizable piece of jasper.....now if I just know what to do with it. :-)

As the new school year is approaching I find myself really missing being in education and working with great teachers and students. So the closest I can come right now is heading up the Wal-mart Teacher Rewards Program for our store. Nothing too difficult or time consuming, but at least it is something.

My co-worker and I did a some decorating for my bosses birthday, which is tomorrow. He calls it Black Death Day (even though he is only turning 34). So we decked out his office in black streamers and black balloons for him to keep in line with his theme.

Made a trip to Salem with my friend Sarah today. She took me to the Willamette Queen Sternwheeler so I could see where she is getting married, and try to get a feel for the boat since she has somehow convinced me to do her wedding pictures. (Yes, I might just be crazy!)

Today is my mom’s birthday. Birthday’s are such great things since they give us a chance to celebrate the people in our lives. I won’t say how old she is, but I will say how much I love her. She truly is a wonderful woman, and I know I don’t tell her that enough.

On another note, my mom is also one of the most difficult people to shop for.....she can never think of anything she really wants or needs. So, she’s been saying how she’d like to have a nice lawn chair to sit outside in, so I found her one. The funny thing is, she likes to use it in the house. :-)

With my job I have plenty of time to observe the strangeness of the Wal-mart world. Today I see this girl dressed all in pink, about junior high age, with her short shorts, her fish net stockings, beanie cap, and sneakers--thinking she thought she looked good because she would stop and admire herself when passing a mirror.

Tonight I was craving something that was ooey-gooey and sweet. So I had vanilla ice cream, with andes mint pieces, topped with a caramel sauce. It took care of my taste, and was so sweet I wasn’t even able to finish it. Good thing I have a couple of dogs who don’t mind helping me out.

Got a box from Fedex today.....wasn’t expecting anything, so I was little excited to see what might be in it. When I opened up the box I found my diploma; so, I guess it’s official that I have obtained my Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree.

New dog toy for my kids. It says it is made from “tuff stuff,” we’ll see how it actually holds up. So far the dogs love it because it squeaks, though I know the squeaker won’t last forever.

I saw a package of these new Oreo cookies while I was working today. I was intrigued by the whole triple double thing....logic said it is either double or triple, not both. My wise and wonderful sister explained 3 pieces of cookie, and 2 sections of filling......that makes a little more sense. So while the big idea was a good one, I wasn’t really interested in the neapolitan flavor (so they stayed in the store).

I love having friends who enjoy reading books as much as I do, then I get to borrow books from them.....today I finished Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. It was a decent read, though struck me as a Twilight wannabe type storyline.

Took my “kids” out to play in the pool today. It was Ariana’s first time playing in the pool (since she had a broken leg last summer); she was a little hesitant at first, but wasn’t about to be left out of the fun when Annabelle kept splashing around. I think both girls had fun, and were able to cool off a little bit.
